The EPA Cambridge physiotherapy clinic, in addition to offering early morning and late evening appointments, we offer direct billing to most major insurance companies and we welcome WSIB and Motor Vehicle clients.

Jay Patel

Registered Physiotherapist, BSc (PT), Partner

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Jay has studied Manual Therapy and Orthopedic courses. He has a strong background in manual therapy, active release, and exercises prescription. His clinical interests lie in the shoulder, back, knee, ACL and surgery rehabilitation, as well as sports injuries, including soccer and hockey. Jay also enjoys volunteering his time as a soccer coach, spending time with his family, cooking and barbecuing, and cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles. Fly Eagles Fly! *Jay is currently on Sabbatical and is not seeing patients*

Carla Placido

Registered Physiotherapist, BSc (PT), CAFCI

Carla is a graduate of the University of Toronto. She practices acupuncture (CAFCI) and manual therapy (Level 3). She also provides treatment and rehabilitation for concussion and different pediatric issues like Torticollis, upper and lower extremity muscle strains & ligament sprains, Osgood Schlatter’s, shin splints, toe walking/in-toeing/out-toeing, Brachial plexus lesions, Severs disease, growing pains, fracture recovery/post-op recovery and Perthes disease. Her clinical interests lie in the areas of acupuncture and back rehabilitation including core stability training. She is leading the Pelvic Core Connect Class of EPA Cambridge.

Meera Bhatt

Registered Physiotherapist

Meera is a Registered Physiotherapist with a degree from Gujarat University, India, and a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Humber College, Canada. With over 12 years of experience in physiotherapy across India and Canada, she has worked extensively in hospitals in India, treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions, post-total knee replacement (TKR) rehabilitation, and providing critical care support in the cardiac ICU. After obtaining her physiotherapy license in Canada, Meera has primarily focused on musculoskeletal rehabilitation. She specializes in hands-on therapy, including soft tissue release, therapeutic exercises, and stretching, complemented by various treatment modalities. A firm believer in lifelong learning, Meera continuously seeks to expand her expertise to enhance patient outcomes. She has completed her Level 1 pelvic certification and is able to treat pelvic floor issues such as stress incontinence. She plans to further develop her skills through courses in manual therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, and acupuncture. Meera is thrilled to be back with EPA in Cambridge and looks forward to serving the community once again. Outside of her profession, Meera enjoys spending time in nature with family and creating cherished moments with her baby.

Mariya Waris

Registered Physiotherapist, BSc (PT)

Mariya graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Gulf Medical University, U. A. E., in 2006. Mariya is an experienced practitioner and has worked extensively with a wide variety of orthopedic and female pelvic conditions, including bladder leakage, pregnancy, post-natal issues, post-pelvic surgeries, sexual pain, pelvic girdle pain, lower back pain, pelvic organ prolapse and bowel issues. She also provides treatment and rehabilitation for pediatric conditions like upper and lower extremity muscle strains and ligament sprains, shin splints, fracture recovery/postop recovery and growing pains. Her clinical interests lie in neck, shoulder, hip and female pelvic floor issues. Mariya is fluent in Arabic, Urdu, and Hindi. In her spare time, Mariya enjoys working out, reading fiction and spending time with her family and friends.

Lyanne Martin

Registered Physiotherapist

Lyanne graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) (2015-2020) and Master of Kinesiology (2020-2021). She. recently completed her Master of Physiotherapy at the University of Western Ontario (2022-2024). Lyanne’s passion for working within athletics and helping others achieve their physical, performance and rehabilitative goals derives from her own experiences as an athlete, coach and trainer. She has played sports both competitively and recreationally for much of her life. Lyanne played field lacrosse at Brock University and the University of Western Ontario and was an assistant coach with the Brock Badgers for the 2021-22 season. Lyanne has volunteered with varsity and community athletes since 2017 as a student strength and conditioning coach and student trainer at Brock and McMaster University. She continues to volunteer her time as a trainer with community teams. Lyanne enjoys working with individuals across all life stages and athletic abilities to achieve their personal and performance goals. She enjoys bringing activity and exercise into everyone’s life and takes an active approach to rehabilitation. When not in the clinic, Lyanne enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors and going on hikes. Since graduating, she has been interested in learning new sports such as pickleball, spikeball and running.

Jane Esbaugh

Lead Administrator

Jane has been a member of the EPA family for over 14 years. Her past experience as a physiotherapy assistant makes her an important asset to the team. Outside of work, Jane enjoys spending time with her family and friends and relaxing at her family cottage. She is also an avid sports fan.

Tara Lawson

Receptionist

Tara and her family are residents of Hespeler. You will find Tara most days covering Reception in the afternoons and evenings and she will be happy to help you book appointments and answer billing-related questions.
