This large, bright facility opened in the south part of Georgetown in July 2005. The clinic now boasts three registered physiotherapists and one registered massage therapist.
The clinic has three private treatment rooms and a fully equipped gym and offers early morning and late evening appointments to service commuters. In addition, we offer acupuncture, ultrasound, TENS, IFC, paraffin wax and sport taping and bracing services.
In accordance with all EPA facilities our mission statement is to provide client centred, evidence based physiotherapy services through the use of manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise.
Meryl Da Costa, Registered Physiotherapist,Clinic Manager
A graduate of the University of Waterloo and McMaster University, Meryl is experienced in Acupuncture (Level 1) and Manual Therapy (Level 3). She has treated both professional and semi-professional athletes, and has a diverse clinical background that includes treating infants with developmental delay and torticollis. Meryl’s clinical interests lie in women’s health, sport injuries, pediatric health and soccer injuries. A local resident, Meryl is a soccer coach with the Georgetown soccer association.
Christine Filion, B.Sc.(P.T.), Registered Physiotherapist
A graduate of the University of Ottawa, and the University of Western Ontario, Christine has obtained her Intermediate Level in Manual Therapy ( Part A). She is also practiced in Acupuncture (Level II) and Temporo-mandibular derangments (jaw). Christine is taking on-going courses in vestibular rehab (vertigo) and concussion management. Her clinical interests lie in the areas of back, knee and neck rehabilitation as well as sport injuries and treating young children. Christine is a French-speaking therapist who participates in triathlons.
Zenilkumar Gandhi,B.P.T.,Registered Physiotherapist
Zenil works together with his clients to develop personalized treatment programs that work towards meeting your specific goals. He prides himself on getting to the biomechanical root of your aches and pains so that treatment addresses not only healing from injury, but also prevention. He has extensive experience working with clients with work related injuries, motor vehicle injuries and sports related injuries and various orthopaedic conditions. Zenil employs a range of therapeutic modalities in his practice including hands-on manual techniques to restore normal joint, soft issue and neural mobility and function.
Zenil is keenly interested in his professional growth. He is constantly reviewing the most recent evidence based ‘best practices’ to ensure the delivery of the most effective and highest quality of care. Zenil aims to continue his education through the acquisition of post-graduate diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. He has completed Level 1 and Level 2 courses through Orthopaedic Division. He also holds certifications in Acupuncture and Dry Needling. Zenil is extremely passionate in his commitment to obtain the best rehabilitation for each patient in order to achieve the most timely and successful functional recovery from injury.
Taryn Brown, M.P.T (PT) B.HSc. Registered Physiotherapist
Taryn completed her Master’s in Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario. Prior to that she graduated from the University of Ottawa with an Honors Degree in Health Sciences. While studying she completed 5 seasons as a CIS athlete, playing on the women’s varsity hockey team at both universities. Taryn believes strongly in manual therapy, a thorough understanding of anatomy and exercise prescription specific to individuals in order to return patients to the activities they enjoy. Her specific clinical interests include sports injuries, as well as back and shoulder conditions. She is passionate about continuing education and has participated in post-graduate education courses such as the McMaster Acupuncture Program, Soft Tissue Release, Mulligan Techniques, and her Level 1 of Manual Therapy
Robert Colangelo, SMTcc, RMT,BA., Massage Therapist
A graduate of York University, ICT Kikkawa College and Humber College. He obtained a degree in Kinesiology, his designation as a RMT and completed the Pre Service Fire Fighting program. He has been practising massage therapy for the last six years and instructs massage therapy currently. Robert is a certified candidate in sports massage and is currently working with athletes from many different sports including soccer, hockey, baseball and running. A new resident to the Georgetown area Robert hopes to connect with his new community.
