Infant Motor Milestone Classes
Our Infant Motor Milestone Classes are designed to support your baby’s early development in a fun, supportive, and educational environment. Led by pediatric physiotherapy professionals, these sessions guide parents through age-appropriate activities that encourage skills like tummy time, rolling, sitting, crawling, and early standing.
Parents will learn how to safely support their baby’s movement, build confidence in handling and play, and better understand what milestones to expect and when. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to connect with other parents in the community while giving your little one the best start in their movement journey!
Currently, these classes are run out of our Guelph-Bullfrog Mall clinic.

Milestones Covered at Each Level
Level 1 Milestones (~1-4 months old)
Level 1 focuses on building your baby’s foundational movement skills through tummy time, early rolling, head control, and side-lying play. These activities help strengthen core and neck muscles.
Level 2 Milestones (~5-9 months old)
In Level 2, we build on tummy time and rolling while introducing sitting balance, smooth transitions (like moving from sitting to lying down), and the early stages of crawling. This stage supports coordination, stability, and confidence in movement.
Level 3 Milestones (~9-12 months old)
Level 3 is all about mobility and independence. Babies work on pulling to stand, standing on their own, cruising, and preparing for those exciting first steps toward walking!
NEW! Level 4 Milestones (~11-14 months old)
Our newest level supports babies who can already pull to stand and cruise and are now progressing toward independent standing, assisted walking, and independent walking. This stage focuses on refining balance, strength, and confidence.

Program Features
Our Infant Motor Milestone Classes offer a supportive, engaging environment where families can learn and grow together. Led by registered physiotherapists, each session incorporates play-based learning to help babies build strength, coordination, and confidence while reaching important developmental milestones. Parents are guided through practical infant handling techniques and receive valuable developmental insights to better understand their baby’s progress and needs.
These classes may be eligible for coverage under physiotherapy benefits.
Please note that each child will require an initial 40-minute assessment with the physiotherapist leading the class prior to the first session. This assessment is designed to determine your baby’s readiness and ensure the program is tailored to their developmental needs. The initial assessment and the group class can both be billed as physiotherapy for benefits.
