The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) guidelines for Cancer Survivors recommends that those living with cancer and survivors should progress up to 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise weekly. In addition, those living with cancer should also complete resistance training including all major muscle groups 2-3x/week. Research has shown the positive effects of exercise in improving quality of life and can reduce the side effects of various cancer treatments.
This exercise class is designed for those living with cancer and survivors, this class emphasizes safe, guided movement to improve strength, mobility, and confidence. Sessions include education and a full-body beginner strength workout, helping to reduce treatment side effects like fatigue while enhancing overall well-being. Open to all cancer types, with a focus on breast cancer. It is a group exercise class led by a Physiotherapist or Physiotherapist Assistant, running approximately 60 minutes, twice a week, over six weeks.
An assessment by one of our Physiotherapists is needed prior to participation in the class. The Physiotherapist will ensure that the class is appropriate as part of the treatment plan.

What to expect from your Eramosa Cancer Rehab experience
Path to Improved Health is the framework every Eramosa patient follows. We’ve used it to guide assessment, treatment, and recovery since 1997 — and it’s how we make sure nothing about your care is left to chance.
Starting in the right place
We start by understanding where you are now — your history, your goals, and what you want to get back to — so the programme is pitched at the right level for you from the first session.
Guided sessions
Sessions are guided throughout. Technique is coached, exercises are adjusted as you go, and the level is set so that it challenges you without putting you at risk.
Progressing your program
As you build strength and confidence your exercises progress. Cancer Rehab is designed to leave you with something you can carry on with independently.
