Evaluation and Treatment of Visual Dysfunction after Concussion (mTBI) Course @ University of Guelph – Health and Performance Centre
May 9 @ 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Concussion (mTBI) is a widespread and prevailing injury that many orthopaedic physiotherapists are now dealing with in their sports and orthopaedic practices. Physiotherapists and athletic trainers are frequently consulted to mediate in the evaluation and management of individuals with prolonged post-concussion symptoms including dizziness, balance, and/or physical impairment. With estimates up to 1/2 of patients with sports related mTBI experience binocular vision impairment, physiotherapists have the potential to be gatekeepers in detection and co-management of these patients. Therapists treating impairment in persons following mTBI must be familiar with screening, gross evaluation, and therapy techniques for common ocular motor pathology. This seminar and workshop will provide therapists and trainers with the tools to better evaluate and manage common visual impairments following mTBI
