We are pleased to announce the transition of our EPA-Waterloo site to Depth Physiotherapy and Sports Rehabilitation.
Justin Brooks began with EPA at our Health and Performance site and over the years has grown his passion and expertise for both physiotherapy and hockey.
Depth Training is committed to providing quality performance, health and fitness services to our athletes and clients. The physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation clinic has been opened to provide physiotherapy services for sports injuries, non-sports related muscle/bone/joint injuries, as well as personal health and wellness.
Depth Training’s goal is to improve your physical well-being by restoring proper function of your joints and muscles. DEPTH PHYSIOTHERAPY & SPORTS REHAB will assess your injury or concern and then perform treatments utilizing a combination of manual therapy techniques, soft tissue treatments such as Active Release Techniques (ART®), acupuncture, exercise and modalities including ultrasound therapy. It is our mission to help you return to your sport or enjoyed activities in a safe and timely manner.
We look forward to supporting Depth Training and their new Physiotherapy Venture.
Justin Brooks, MSc (PT), BSc Hon (Kin), CSCS, Certified ART Provider, Registered Physiotherapist
A graduate of the University of Waterloo (Kinesiology) and Queen’s University (Physiotherapy), Justin possesses the knowledge and skills to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries. Justin has been practicing physiotherapy for the past 3 years after graduating with distinction from Queen’s University. Justin is the Director of Athletic Development for Depth Training and is the lead Physiotherapist for the rehabilitation clinic. Justin has worked as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Depth Training for the past 2 years and has been responsible for the development and execution of all training programs for Depth Teams and Athletes. Justin has worked closely with all Depth Athletes from minor sports teams and players to OHL and Professional hockey players.
Justin’s approach to physiotherapy practice is based on a biomechanics background which strongly considers the health and function of the body’s joints and muscles. Justin uses detailed assessment methods to identify functional limitations in order to address current and future injury risk. Justin then uses a combination of hands on treatment methods including Active Release Techniques (A.R.T.®) and Acupuncture with specific exercise protocols to restore proper function.
Justin is excited to bring his physiotherapy skills to the Depth Training Physiotherapy & Sports Rehab clinic. Justin’s clinic interests include sports rehabilitation, performance training, movement screening (FMS), injury prevention and personal health and wellness. Justin is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) and is Precision Nutrition Certified.
Previous to joining the Depth Training Team in 2011, Justin worked as a Physiotherapist and Exercise Specialist at the University of Guelph’s Health and Performance Center. Justin is currently pursing further education in Manual Therapy Techniques, Acupuncture and Active Release Techniques. Justin is a Registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and is also a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Associations Orthopedic and Sport Divisions.
