MIKE Laidley – Lead Physiotherapist & Clinic Manager, MSc (PT), Hon BSc (Kin), MCPA, Certified ART® Provider, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, Registered Physiotherapist
Mike is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Queens University. He has furthered his education by completing Contemporary Medical Acupuncture at McMaster University, Concussion Management, annual Active Release Techniques® courses, and is working towards a Diploma of Advanced Manual Therapy. His treatment techniques include the use of Manual Therapy, Specialized Exercise, Active Release Techniques® (ART), and Contemporary Medical Acupuncture. Previous to joining the DEPTH Training Team, Mike worked as the Lead Physiotherapist at Eramosa Physiotherapy in Elora. Mike has worked extensively with amateur and elite athletes (including OHL, AHL, NHL, and other professional athletes) at DEPTH Training & Physiotherapy in Waterloo treating sports injuries, post-concussion syndrome, and other musculoskeletal injuries. He also developed the Off-Season Performance Enhancement & Physiotherapy Program for Hockey Players. With an understanding of the functional demands of hockey and training, Mike uses his physiotherapy approach to restore adaptive potential, reduce the risk of injury and maximize athletic performance. Regardless of the injury, Mike’s goal is to get you back to sport or normal routine in a safe and timely manner.
JUSTIN Brooks – Director of Athletic Development & Sport Rehab, MSc (PT), BSc (Kin), MCPA, CSCS, Precision Nutrition Certified, Registered Physiotherapist
Justin is graduate of the University of Waterloo and Queen’s University. He has furthered his education by completing Active Release Techniques® courses, Acupuncture, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Precision Nutrition Certification. His treatment techniques include the use of Manual Therapy, Specialized Exercise, Active Release Techniques® (ART), and Acupuncture. Previous to joining the DEPTH Training Team Justin worked as a Physiotherapist and Exercise Specialist at the University of Guelph’s Health and Performance Centre. Justin has worked extensively with amateur and elite athletes (including OHL, AHL, NHL, and other professional athletes) at DEPTH Training & Physiotherapy in Waterloo treating a variety of sports injuries and other musculoskeletal injuries. As Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, he is responsible for the development and execution of all training programs at DEPTH Training. Justin’s approach to physiotherapy practice is based on a biomechanics background which strongly considers the health and function of the body’s joints and muscles. He uses detailed assessment methods to identify functional limitations in order to address current and future injury risk.
